Atrauman Silicone is a wound contact layer made from a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) mesh as the carrier material and coated on both sides with silicone gel (based on polydimethylsiloxane). This wound contact layer is designed for atraumatic wound treatment and is thin, soft, customizable, and drapable. It protects organs and other sensitive structures during negative pressure wound therapy. Its open mesh structure allows for permeability to exudate. It adheres gently and securely to dry surfaces, but not to moist ones, thus preventing it from sticking to the wound.
