Hello, Would you be able to send us the links to the brushes you are referring to? We can try to find out. :)
I would spray it with some limescale-dissolving bath cleaner, wait a while and then clean it carefully with a toothbrush. As a general rule, give the brush heads a rest after each use. Always remove the heads, rinse them and do not put them back on. Always wash and wipe dry the brush head holder area. Put the brushes on before brushing your teeth.
Technically there is no difference, only the design is a Special Edition edition.

The iO 9 has a new function. It is an Artificial Intelligence with 3D TEETH TRACKING. This function is not yet with the iO 8.
