The main problem with this device is its metal head, which is held in place by a small screw (inside the head of the device). This screw eventually loosens and the stem on which the brush is fitted no longer holds in place.
The device then makes a jackhammer noise and doesn't clean much at all.
It is possible to repair it - you need to open the base of the appliance, remove the entire interior and screw the screw back in - but the process is not easy, especially opening the base, which requires special tools, such as a screw the size of the hole or a very fine flathead screwdriver.
In short, it's hard to recommend this product given its short lifespan.
If you're a clumsy person and occasionally drop your device on the floor, don't bother.
For DIY enthusiasts, there are dozens of videos on YouTube explaining how to carry out the repair yourself.

I have been using the Sonicare for over 10 years. The brushing is still very good! However, I have the feeling that the devices are cheaper overall compared to the older predecessor models! The appliance is completely smooth and therefore does not fit as well in the hand....but you get used to it. There is no longer any anti-slip/rubber coating, which in my view is a deterioration. The device is lighter and seems cheaper....let's hope it lasts the next 2-3 years.

This is now my umpteenth Philipps brush. They work well, clean thoroughly and gently. I am actually very satisfied with the result. Unfortunately, they break relatively quickly, preferably pretty soon after the warranty expires. It's a pity they're not built to a higher standard. The fact that the brush heads are so disgustingly expensive is also annoying.

I had initially treated myself to the much more expensive DiamondClean (which broke after a year...), but after the initial familiarisation phase I only used it to clean at the same setting every evening anyway.
This one only has the one setting without all the bells and whistles, feels the same, for a fraction of the price.
