With commercial cotton swabs, the cotton tips or the shape dissolve very quickly because they are only lightly/softly spun. The tips of the TAMIYA Craft cotton swabs (industrial quality) are very tightly spun and are ideal for model building and other applications (eg cleaning gears, engines and very inaccessible places). In "wet condition" (soaked with paint or solvents) the tips/tips remain dimensionally stable. The range of use of these "cotton swabs" starts as helpers in applying decals/decals, picking up excess paint, varnishing details to weathering (aging) models.
