My Naipo makes cracking noises when the balls rotate (more in one direction than the other), depending on their placement. Is this normal or is it a defect?

Mine does too. Mainly to do with leaning instead of sitting freely. But it never worried me. Try it and see if it happens when you're not leaning anywhere.
