The Braun Series 9 generations differ mainly in shaving foil efficiency, Pro-Lift trimmer and accessories. The Series 9 Pro+ (latest) offers thinner blades and improved skin closeness, while the Series 9 Pro introduced the Pro-Lift trimmer for flat lying hairs. The original Series 9 (92xx) is older, but all utilise 5 clipper elements. (from the Braun website)
