Test Report

Gas grills tested - Well equipped for the barbecue party

The Stiftung Warentest gas barbecue test shows: Everyone can barbecue, but many emit harmful substances, are unsafe or rust. But there are also good ones - even inexpensive ones. The days when barbecue masters were only taken seriously if there was plenty of coal glowing under the grill are over: today, many barbecue with gas barbecues. But not all models deliver what they promise. Both in our current test 2023 and in the predecessor test of 2019, many grills had problems: they were susceptible to rusting, emitted pollutants - or revealed hot spots where you could easily burn your fingers. One of them was even in danger of bursting into flames. However, we were able to give 9 models among the 24 gas barbecues a good quality rating, including both large barbecue trolleys with three burners and small table barbecues with only one burner. The comparison is worthwhile: our test results point the way to a good, robust and safe gas barbecue. And fortunately, some of the good ones are also surprisingly affordable.
