Frage zu Synology RS1219+
Guten Abend zusammen. In ein paar Monaten möchte ich bisschen umbauen. Ich brauche diese Synology Rackstation und möchte sie gerne mit SSDs bestücken. Eher weniger aus dem Performance Grund sondern wegen der Langlebigkeit. Hat jemand Erfahrung gemacht? SSDs müssten ja doch einiges länger Leben als die WD REDs. Auf was muss ich mich achten? Welche würdet ihr mir Empfehlen? Besten Dank für Eure Hilfe.

Ich hab die RS1219 seit ca. 6 Monaten im Einsatz und bin zufrieden. Ist deutlich leiser als die grossen Synology Diskstation im 19" Rackformat und in der Länge auch deutlich kürzer, so dass kleinere/kürzere 19" Racks auch passen. Der Prozessor ist ein bisschen schwach auf der Brust, also wenn du das in einem Office Environment mit vielen Usern einsetzt köönte es je nach workload eng werden, vor allem wenn die periodische Raid/Data Scrubbing auch noch im Hintergrund läuft.
Bezüglich deiner Annahme "Langlebigkeit SSD" in einem Raid Array wäre ich nicht so sicher und würde das an deiner Stelle genau recherchieren. Der Grund ist, dass Synology ja 2 spezielle Rackstations anbietet mit einem speziellen Filesystem "RAID F1" für Einsatz mit SSD und zwar die Modelle Flashstation FS3017 und FS2017. Empfehle dir bei Synology das White-Paper zu studieren zu diesem spezifischen Thema (auf der jeweiligen Produkt-Seite verfügbar).

Persönlich habe ich keine Erfahrung mit Synology und SSD für grosse Datenvolumen (50 GB+). In dem Sinne kann ich dir keine Empfehlung geben, sondern wollte dich nur auf das Thema & die potentielle Risiken sensibilisieren.
