Ditch that cheap Scream mask! This Halloween, «Halo Eyes» are a stylish alternative if you’re lazy when it comes to fancy dress

Scary masks, cheap wigs and fake blood repulse me. Too bad they’re here to stay at any Halloween party. My alternative? Moody make-up that won’t scare anyone off.

Most Halloween-inspired make-up makes me gag. Not because I don’t appreciate the SFX skills you need with all the latex, optical illusions and fake blood. That’s an art in itself. It’s the overall aesthetics I can’t stomach. What’s more, I’m not a fan of mandatory fancy dress at said parties. However, if you ditch the spook factor, you can go for dark and stylish. No need for a bloody axe or a sweaty wig. How? For example, with the right make-up technique to get the halo eyes effect. The video above is your step-by-step guide to nail the look and adjust it to your needs. For English subtitles, click the gear icon, «Subtitles/CC» and «Auto-translate».

The final touch: fake eyelashes.

By the way, the colour palette I used in the video is from Colourpop’s 2020 limited «Hocus Pocus» edition with Disney. That’s why I’ve linked a suitable alternative with similar shades of purple:

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
