The new Xbox is called Series X
The Game Awards not only rewarded many games, but also showcased a number of new products. In particular, we attended the presentation of the new Xbox.
Thursday evening, Microsoft stole the show with probably the most interesting presentation of the: Microsoft's new console is called Xbox Series X. In the short presentation video, we can finally see what the new Xbox will look like, scheduled for release at the end of 2020.
The design is reminiscent of a mini-PC case. Xbox project manager Phil Spencer also said in an interview with Gamespot that the console's shape was inspired by its use. And it should serve us well for playing the most demanding and immersive games on the market.
The Series X takes the form of a small tower with an illuminated ventilation grille on the top. You can also place it horizontally, it certainly won't fit in a standing TV cabinet.

The new controller can also be seen in the presentation video. At first glance, nothing has changed, apart from the appearance of a share button, which was already on other consoles. This allows you to record and share photos and videos at the touch of a button.
According to Phil Spencer's statements, the new hybrid directional cross is said to be inspired by the Elite controller. Unlike the Elite controller, however, you won't be able to swap the directional cross for a more traditional model. Your old controllers will, however, be compatible with the new console.
The Xbox Series X is said to have another interesting feature when it comes to launching games. You could already turn off the last Xbox and turn it back on, picking up the game where you left off without having to recharge. The new console should make it possible to do the same thing with several games at the same time. It will also be possible to transfer your saves from exclusive games to the new console.
The exact release date for the Xbox Series X has not yet been revealed. We can probably count on a release for next autumn or winter. <p
