They feature an automatic locking mechanism and a twist protection. Their use is recommended for new installations of computer networks using fiber optic technology. The connector is suitable for singlemode and multimode fibers. It can be used to create simplex, duplex, and multi connections. APC - Angled Physical Contact. Connectors with the APC designation have an end face that is not only rounded but also tilted a few degrees relative to the fiber axis. This design allows reflected light from the core to be refracted through the cladding into the air, thereby preventing interference with data transmission.
