An FTTH (fibre to the home) cable itself consumes very little energy, around 0.07 watts. In comparison, a typical RJ45 cable (copper Ethernet) consumes around 3 watts. This makes fibre optic cables much more energy efficient in operation and can lead to lower operating costs and a smaller environmental footprint in the long term.

Hoi SwissWeasle, I use the same cable with Fiber7. It works, but the important thing is the "counterpart" in the router, i.e. the SFP module. If this comes from Init7 (as in my case), it should work.

The fibre optic cable you mentioned is a fibre optic cable and is not suitable for use with a 10 Gbps Internet box via RJ45. For 10 Gbps applications, twisted pair cables such as Cat6a or Cat7, which are specifically designed for such speeds, are usually recommended. However, fibre optic cables are ideal for applications that require long distances and interference immunity.

Yes. OS2 Single Mode Fiber supports 1-100Gbit/s link up to max. 200Km range. Provided that your hardware and your ISP also support this.

Is this a 10 Gbit cable?

This fibre supports 10Gb/s, but it depends on the SFP module you put on your switches. You need an SFP+ module, which stands for Single Mode Fibre, which supports 10Gb/s symmetric over one fibre. For example this: Ubiquiti UF-SM-10G-S: 2er Set SFP+ Modul (transceiver module)

When you do a speedtest from a computer, you get the speed of the slowest component between your computer and the servers on the internet. What is the speed of your internet subscription? Are you doing the test connected with a cable to your box or by wifi? Which computer do you have? There is a component in the package that limits to 100Mb/s

Hello Lgehrig I use the cable at home for my Sunrise router. As far as I know, this should also work with a Swisscom router. I have also had good experiences with the cable in combination with the Salt Fiber Box. So it should work. Kind regards Sascha

We also bought the cable for the Salt-Box and it does not fit.... We bought the matching cable (LC APC / SC APC connector, simplex, white item no.: 4260084411987) from Kabelhaus.com.
