There are 2 possibilities:
1) Streaming with Bluetooth - you can stream audio from your smartphone or tablet to the Evoke via Bluetooth (more info can be found in the manual, page 14).
2) Audio streaming from a PC, Mac or NAS - either install a multimedia server on a PC or Mac (there are many free of charge, e.g.: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki...) or buy a NAS (Network Attached Storage) with a built-in multimedia server (keyword UPnP server/DLNA).

I would think a CR2025 or CR2032 is the most likely. Both have a diameter of 20mm, which is relatively easy to measure. The problem is the slight difference in height.

Start can be entered. Stop time cannot. After one hour, the radio stops on alarm.
If you also want to use sleep timers, this is hell. Shimmy through the menu with a push and turn wheel that couldn't be more inoperable.
The functions of the device are great, but the operation in general is simply tedious.
You can't get around that. If it bothers you, you have to cancel Spotify Premium or do without Spotify, because there are other ways to listen to music. I listen to Spotify on my mobile phone and have the same "problem".

It depends on what kind of external speakers. It has a 3.5 mm headphone output on the back that can be used for this purpose. They should be active speakers, such as those used with a PC monitor.
