The stick is a stand-alone WLAN router. You can plug it into a USB charger and operate it. As long as you only want to use Wi-Fi and don't need Ethernet (RJ45), you don't need a computer. If you plug the stick into a computer via USB, it is recognised as an Ethernet interface and your computer is connected to the Internet via mobile radio. I hope that's enough of an explanation. And otherwise just ask another question ;)

Yes, that works. So far even quite good. Reception is slightly weaker than with a Huawei, for example. However, power consumption is lower and therefore runs for a longer time even with a power bank. Settings take some getting used to.
