I'm afraid that's exactly how it is. I would also advise against using cheap toner. Then suddenly the whole printer is full of ink powder. I am not an expert, these are just my experiences.

With "manual duplex printing", the entire stack is first printed on one side when several copies are printed.
The stack must then be inserted again (the right way round :) and then printed on the reverse side so that the second page is printed in each case.
Printers with the "duplex unit" function can turn the sheets over automatically.

Yes, it is possible.
The quality is simply that of a laser printer, so it's about the same as a newspaper. Better to order online, looks best, is cheapest and more convenient than struggling with an inkjet printer.

Unfortunately, I could not find a complete list. But JPEG, TIFF, PDF or XPS are supported in any case to save multiple pages directly to USB. For one-sided scans, there should also be BMP and PNG. On the computer, even the ebook format epub is supported via software (Samsung Easy Document Creator).

I have just been able to successfully set up my Samsung SL-C480W under Ubuntu 14.04. It was even easier than I had hoped for in my wildest dreams. After previous experiences with another well-known printer manufacturer, I was prepared for anything, but this time everything went like clockwork:
Call up the link https://www.samsungsetup.com/TS... on the Ubuntu computer, download the Linux package, run "sudo ./install.sh", agree to the EULA and the driver installation is complete.
The printer can then be added via the normal printer menu in Ubuntu, it is automatically found in the network without any further configuration.
That's what I call Linux compatibility :-)
A small drop of bitterness on the side: The site for the package download is not completely encrypted in all parts.

No, not necessarily. You can connect the printer directly via WLAN, as you know it from other devices.

The CLT-P406C kit should fit the SL-C480W - the individual toners are CLT-K406S, CLT-C406S, CLT-M406S, CLT-Y406S
With the Samsung Mobile Print App, printing can be done via Wifi.

I use this printer for printing and scanning, even after updating to Catalina. It works perfectly on the LAN. I had also tested WLAN and it also works as an alternative to the LAN connection. Both together do not work. Only the two Easy Tools, which were still working at the time, no longer work. HP recommended checking the support page from time to time to see if newer versions of the Easy Tools for Mac were available.
