This is the Backup Plus Hub STEL6000200 (article number 5939875)
Yes, that is correct.
The disk is attached to my laptop and naturally goes into standby when there is no activity. Commendably, it does not even start when I activate the laptop and the USB contact is thus established, but only when there is effective access.
This is a normal external hard drive. There are software packages included for backup scenarios etc. but you can leave them out if you don't need them. Greetings
In short: Yes. If you plug in the external HDD and open Time Machine, you can select the external HDD and have it formatted. Afterwards, a Time Machine backup can be made to the external HDD as usual, provided it is plugged in.

In principle, the Fritzbox supports USB hubs and multiple hard disks. However, the USB hubs should have their own power supply, which is probably the case here. In the case of simultaneous access, the data is transferred more slowly, as everything goes via the same interface.
I use this disc on a Synology and wanted the largest USB disc currently available. Important for me was the USB port on the front, so that I can attach more discs, as all ports on the Synology are already occupied.
I assume you are copying files from your system's hard drive (or SSD drive). If your system is USB 2.0, then it will take forever. Newer systems use USB 3, which is up to ten times faster. 4 MB/s is not normal for USB 3. I have USB 3 with an internal SSD. When copying video files, I get around 80 MB/s. When reading I get 190 MB/s.
I did a quick google for you: There is a power supply unit included.
Hello Community, Is it possible to network the Seagate Backup Plus Hub (10TB) with a WLan USB stick?
No, not directly. However, the hard disk could be connected to a router via USB and shared, if the router supports this.
Hello Gallus64, in principle the hub is fast enough for this, but the 2.5" hard drive must of course have a USB (and not a SATA) connection.
Hi Thomas Which toolkit do you mean exactly? What do you intend to do with the mirror?
The hard drive works on the Xbox One S as well as on the One X via an active USB 3.0 hub. An additional external hard drive is also recognised without problems via the integrated USB hub on the Backup Plus.
For me it is in use for the xbox, so it should also work for the PS4.
Since it is an HDD, technically a maximum of 160 MB/s can be achieved. In practice, however, the maximum is usually 60 MB/s, even with new factory disks. Udm in the HDD range from 5400 over 7200 to max. 10000
7200RPM, they are normal Barracuda Pro's from Seagate, I use 6 of them in the Unraid server.
