Hi, bought this model a few months back and has worked perfectly since, no noises, no vibrations, no temperature changes. I run a quite rig so would have noticed otherwise. Suggest you ask for a replacement just in case.
This one (the cheaper one) has twice the cache/buffer according to the specifications. 256mb instead of 128mb. That's all I found. Here is a PDF from the manufacturer (page 2). https://gzhls.at/blob/ldb/f/d/8/f/511e824c1d259720e3603383e3e85d12c6d0.pdf
your hd is definitely mbr. You have to format it in gpt.
try new drivers, windows is not exactly a very good operating system... -> boot a linux from a usb-stick once to test...
I have it exactly the same way! SSD for OS, HDD for games and NAS (HDDs) for data. For a few games, an SSD is almost _necessary_ - because of the loading times. But an old SSD 840 Pro will do for that. The WD Black delivers (according to Samsung Magician): Sequential R/W: 240 MB/s Random (IOPS) R: 732 / W: 1464 Comparison to SSD 970 EVO 500GB (NVMe): Sequential: R: 3,545 MB/s; W: 2,512 MB/s IOPS: R: 273925 / W: 173828
