Samsung ETA-U90 Travel charger
Samsung ETA-U90 Travel charger
Bought 3 of these to power Raspberry Pi 2 - as recommended on the product page. The 2.1A current rating was reassuring, but the specification says nothing about the output voltage tolerances.
When powering up a Raspberry Pi it shows a constant low voltage warning. When measured, the output voltage is 4.55 - 4.63V from all three devices, even at a very light load of 400mA, which is far below the rated 2.1A. The RasPi requires a well regulated, stable 5.0V power supply, rated at or above 1.5A. Unfortunately, this product is not fit for that purpose.
I am sure the device would work well as a phone charger, but do not try to use it to power the Raspberry Pi,
*** My 1-star rating reflects only the usability as power supply for Raspberry Pi.

Bought this specifically for use with the Raspberry Pi 2, as suggested on the Digitec site. Immediately get low voltage warnings from the Pi so clearly it's not up to the job.

Touted as an accessory for Raspberry Pi 2, but doesn't have enough juice for it, despite the alleged 2.1 A.

I have always been satisfied with Samsung products.
However, the cable is a bit short and thick.
The pick-up didn't work out well because the device was first delivered to a branch near my home even though I wanted to pick up the product in Zurich.
Since this was the first time, this does not affect the rating.

Since the charger is offered as a recommendation for the Raspberry Pi 2, I also ordered it.
Like many other customers
I have the same problem with the - presumably too low - voltage output ? -
I have then also tried out:
Apple USB Power Adapter 10 Watt
Belkin F8Z630cw iPod/iPhone
- the same problem remains - the "rainbow square" that warns in Openelec
warns of insufficient power.
The question remains: Which charger is recommended, as it seems that the exact 5 volts supplied are too little - on pages with complete kits, power supplies with 5.2 volts are specified ...
( ideally with more than 2A )
It would be nice if Digitec would update the recommendation, thanks !
