In terms of size, the only alternative to the iPhone 4

Currently the only usably equipped phone (in terms of memory, RAM, camera) that doesn't come with a display of over 5'' - and I still find it at the upper limit in terms of size...
Everything works OK, after you have to restart the phone about 10 times in a row to install all the updates that have appeared in the meantime (puzzling why Sony can't do this in 1x).
Also somewhat annoying is all the junk that Sony packs on top and of course cannot be removed. Meanwhile, after a month of use, over 16GB of built-in memory are already filled with the system and apps (but I haven't installed that many).
Then I dropped it on the floor several times because the case is so smooth that it slides down everywhere (so well that the little pull of the charging cable is enough to pull it off the bedside table) - at least nothing has ever happened without the case.
Otherwise tip top

I can only confirm the positive features and experiences that other customers have had. After two rather low-cost phones (Wiko), I now realise that quality and performance have their price. I don't think the price of CHF 400 is too high for the device. The handiness is great and I don't miss the 5-inch and larger displays. A great device! Too bad about the fingerprint-attracting material, but I knew that beforehand. Battery lasts me easily 1.5 days. Display great! Audio great!

I bought the device to replace a Sony Xperia Z1 compact - my wife wants small phones. I use a ZTE Axon7 myself. After setting up and transferring all data, photos, Whatsapp etc. I can only say one thing: a top device.
Just as fast and smooth compared to my ZTE Axon 7. After an hour with the Xperia X, I noticed how clunky and heavy my phone is ;-) I'll probably stick with the ZTE anyway. I like the big screen.
Compared to the Z1, the first thing that stands out is the much better screen, absolutely clear and bright. The performance also impressed me, everything runs fast and smoothly. When transferring the WA account via wifi, I noticed that the device got warm, but not too much. It will probably rarely run under full load, so no problem.
As always with Sony, the build quality is top.
Compared to the Z3 and Z1, the new slide for inserting the SIM and SD card was particularly positive. No more fumbling, hurray! Simply changing the SD card no longer turns into tedious fumbling and searching for tweezers / needle / whatever. Tiptop.
And another argument in favour of Sony: the customer service is really great! Bachmann does a very good job. (After my junior inserted the sim card without the slide into his Z3, Bachmann removed it again free of charge / under guarantee. It can be sent in free of charge by means of an online order, and I also received the Z3 home free of charge within 4 days).
With a telephone, you don't just pay for the hardware - you also pay for the service.

Great alternative to the iphone as it is also 4.6 inches in size.

Everything you'd expect from an Xperia compact. If it had been IP68, it would have been perfect. Otherwise, nothing to complain about. It offers very good performance for its price and comes in a very nice design.
