MagentaTV One is convincing. The box is actually intended as a second box on the MagentaTV connection or for using the MagentaTV app - i.e. the offer that can be used completely independently of the internet provider. In the test, however, the many advantages quickly become apparent: Especially when it comes to streaming, the box is sometimes even superior to Telekom's established media receivers...
... The TV experience is noticeably improved: the system responds more quickly overall, switching times between programmes are shorter, and a new stand-by function speeds up switching on. In addition, a separate voice control is to be activated via an update. That would be a blessing, because the already available Google Assistant is practically unusable.
Like the Apple TV, the MagentaTV One is a 4K-capable streaming TV box with access to countless apps and streaming services. However, the philosophy is different: The One is a successful streaming box with a focus on TV. Anyone switching from classic TV to streaming is well served here.
