Transcend's SSD230 SATA III 6Gb/s SSD is based on 3D NAND technology, which allows for more memory cells to be utilized by stacking them vertically. By exclusively using high-quality chips and advanced firmware algorithms, the SSD230 ensures excellent performance and durability.
Unlike existing planar NAND chips, 3D NAND technology enables memory chips where the memory cells are stacked vertically. 3D NAND was developed to overcome the spatial limitations of 2D planar NANDs, achieving higher performance and endurance levels.
The Transcend SSD230 is equipped with a DDR3 DRAM cache, allowing read/write speeds of up to 340 MB/s for 4K blocks in random read/write scenarios. As a result, the SSD is ideal for use as a boot drive, loading the system and programs in just a few seconds. With the SATA III 6Gb/s interface and the use of an SLC cache, the SSD230 reaches speeds of up to 560 MB/s for reading and 520 MB/s for writing data.
In addition to the extremely high transfer speeds, Transcend's SSD230 offers high data integrity thanks to a RAID and LDPC engine (Low-Density Parity Check), a particularly effective error correction algorithm. The integrated wear-leveling function also ensures a longer lifespan for your SSD.
The SSD230 supports the SATA Device Sleep mode (DevSleep), extending your notebook's battery life when the SSD is not in use. DevSleep features an ultra-low power state, leading to greater savings in battery consumption, as the SATA interface is completely powered down. With a remarkable response time of under 20 ms, the computer quickly returns to operational mode.
