I had an Xperia Z Compact and Z5 Compact, it takes them a while to adapt the Android versions. If you want quick updates, buy one of the Nexus phones=)

It comes regularly by itself. If you are registered with the device on the Sony site, you will also receive an email. You can also check for updates in the settings, but it's not really necessary.
