A comparison using the comparison list in Digitec is not useful, as various specifications are missing for the 1500 model. If the AVR--X1500H is indeed newer and then even cheaper, I would definitely go for it. I bought the 1400 and it is - for my purposes (home cinema control centre and internet radio) - really good to use. I traded it in for a good Onkyo receiver with HDMI standard 1.3 that was about 10 years old. In terms of sound and picture, it is even a little better than the Onkyo, thanks to the very extensive Audyssey calibration.
