As I understood the installation instructions, there are 2 possibilities: - Plug & Play - Setup by pairing (recommended) In the case of 2. how can it be determined whether pairing has worked?

Quite simple - the powerline connection only works with "paired" devices (LED in the middle lights up green on both devices).
