Can I use it to set up a Wi-Fi network in my house by connecting it to my internet provider's modem and then install the repeater on the upper floor where the signal is no longer strongly available? So far I have the installation with a router and repeater from Netgear, but I am not at all satisfied with the performance of the repeater and I also have the problem that the remote control of my TV constantly has dropouts because apparently the router and the Bluetooth signal of the remote control are fighting each other.... :) I am also considering a change because I hope that this problem will miraculously disappear.

I simply attached it to the provider modem and connected the repeaters and set them up remotely. Now everything is as it should be. I have not replaced the provider modem (so I now have 2 WLAN networks). The Fritzbox should solve the problem you described. To be on the safe side, set up all devices on the Fritzbox WLAN.

I was faced with exactly the same question three weeks ago!
I had also bought the 7530 combination package (mesh). When I installed it, the Fritzbox hung up and I couldn't reset it because I had neither LAN nor WLAN. Unfortunately, the 7530 doesn't have a WAN connection!!!
I then bought the Fritzbox 7590. With it, you can plug the modem directly into the right (blue) WAN port. Then everything worked!
But you also have to talk to your provider and tell them about your 7590. They will switch your provider modem into a modem or a router, depending on the case.
(In the EU, the providers offer pre-configured Fritzboxes and the installation goes smoothly. Switzerland once again has its own special soup and the providers only offer their own cheap and weak devices. So if you want to attach a "private" Fritzbox, the provider must accommodate you ....
Repeater: Forget repeaters! A repeater can only forward the received signal, not amplify it. This means that if the repeater is connected in a remote room, it will only receive 60% signal strength, for example. It can therefore only forward this 60% and not make it 100%.
Correct solution: Install an "AccessPoint". (In my case, however, this has also been solved with the 7590, because the Fritzbox has more power and better signal strength. I no longer need an AccessPoint.
