Question about Ubiquiti Amplifi Mesh Router

Does anyone use this router with the UPC Giga Connect Box? Do I understand correctly that the Connect Box has to act as a "modem" and the Ubiquiti takes care of the WLAN? What happens with the devices that are connected via LAN?

Hello,
Unfortunately I can't say anything about the UPC Box.
Yes, the box must function as a modem and the Ubiquiti makes the connection available as a WLAN. Devices connected to the LAN are then in the same network as the WLAN and can thus communicate with each other (also with the WLAN devices).

Is the router enough for a 70m2 apartment or should I get the set with the 2 mesh points? For structural reasons, the GB Connect Box is in the farthest corner. Sometimes I also have hardly any WiFi on the balcony (no walls in between, as the crow flies a little more than 10m)...
