Does the thing run via a direct fibre-optic connection from Sunrise? In other words, without a sunrise internetbox bridge? TV doesn't matter, I just want stable and fast wi-fi directly from the glass connection.

Yes, I have connected and configured this Fritzbox according to the instructions that can be found here in the questions. It works without any problems, the Fritzbox receives the access data from Sunrise.

Internet would have worked but Sunrise did not want to give me the activation code for telephony -> I then changed providers.
Customer friendliness is different :-(

Yes, it also runs on the Sunrise fibre-optic connection (but I have not tested this, I have a Wingo connection myself). First, simply install the latest firmware on the Fritzbox 5490 and then select the Internet provider "Sunrise" in the settings.

I have connected the thing directly to the fibre optic cable from Swisscom and it should be the same with Sunrise. But if you want to make a call, you have to ask for a strange activation number from Sunrise.
