Hello everyone, does anyone have experience with connecting to a Sonos sound system? Can the sound be transmitted via AirPlay or do you have to use the classic RCA cables? Thank you :)

Helpful answer

Ideally, the Sonos soundbar is connected to the TV via HDMI. (HDMI ARC connection) All modern TVs actually have this. Then you can control the soundbar directly with either the Apple TV Remote or the TV remote control, which is 1000x more practical than always adjusting the volume via the Sonos app

Streaming via AirPlay is available in the same way as from the iPhone.

Stereo sound can be transferred to Sonos via Airplay. For everything else (Dolby Atmos etc.), an HDMI cable is required between the Apple TV/TV and Sonos soundbar.
