hello,i'm using the cable with the fast-charging plug for my samsung mobile phone, which works well. now i wanted to charge another electronic device with it,which doesn't work. is the plug probably too strong or the cable or something else to blame? does a device break if you try to charge it with too much power? which cable should i choose to enable both fast charging of the mobile and charging of other devices? thank you very much catrina scheiwiler
The cable can only provide fast charging in conjunction with the fast charging power supply unit if the mobile or other device is also designed for this. Otherwise, the devices will only accept normal charging.
A charger regulates the output power according to demand; if little is demanded, little is supplied. So nothing can break.
As hgest writes, on the other hand, there is no charging process if more is demanded than can be supplied - but with a Samsung fast charger (today's should probably supply 20-45W, many 65W) this would have to be a laptop.
Another thing: With Apple devices such as iPhones and iPads, I have repeatedly found that charging with non-Apple chargers simply doesn't work. At best, they have test chips in the chargers, which the device to be charged then queries (just as printer cartridges or toner cartridges are also identified as original or not by the printers).
If the other device requires more power for charging than the charger can provide, the charger switches off.
