I have 2 questions about this external drive: -The USB 2.0 cable should work fine with my USB 3.0 port, or will there be complications with the read speed? -Is there no software included? To be honest, I would expect that at this price...

- USB 3.0 (on your computer) is fully compatible with USB 2.0 on the drive.
The transfer rate at 6x Blu-ray speed is lower than USB2.0.

- There is a CD with the CyberLink "Media Suite 10 for Blu-ray" with PowerDVD 12, Power2Go 8, PowerProducer 5.5 and MediaShow 6.
I haven't tried out the software yet. I have only just bought the drive.
