Question about Ubiquiti Amplifi Mesh Router

I have a noob question (I don't know anything about network technology). I have this device in operation and am basically VERY satisfied with it. My topology actually looks like this: Salt router (WLAN off) --> Ubiquiti Amplifi --> End devices (SmartTV, AppleTV, AV receiver). In addition, I had a NAS (WD Live Duo, older device) on the AP - however, I could not access the media in the NAS via app on smart devices (e.g. iPhone) (via PC and WLAN, however, access without problems) --> so NAS to the Salt router and NAS access without restrictions. So side question: Why was that? Actual question: Do I have to set up Salt --> AP --> end devices or could I also Salt --> Switch --> AP and end devices ... my point is that Airplay works and for that I have to be on the same network, right? Or can/must I "manage" something so that the network is one and the same? Thanks for the help in advance and greetings Patjaselm

Unfortunately, I can't answer the question 100%, but I understand your concern and what it is about.

Regarding Airplay, I notice that Apple always clearly states in the corresponding support article that the devices must be on the same WLAN and not just on the same network: https://support.apple.com/de-de...
But in a similar case, people have probably already got it to work: https://discussions.apple.com/thread...

Have you ever tried to google exactly with your configuration, e.g. by searching for "NAS ethernet Airplay" (instead of "NAS" you can also write your device)?

Just to be on the safe side: You are in the same network range in the WLAN as in the Ethernet, so you are not using a different IP range, are you?
