If I buy an Iphone 6s without a subscription, is the phone Unloked for another country? (Chile?) or only SIM-Free for Switzerland?

If there is no mention of a netlock or SIM lock, this should not be a problem. I have always bought mobile phones without a subscription and used a prepay card locally in many countries. This was also the case in Chile (at that time with Entel).
