Is there a way to get the USB 2.0 (ext. HDD connection) to USB 3.0, or via HDMI?

I don't quite understand the question. Maybe you are shouting what you want to achieve.

You can plug a hard disk with USB 3.0 into a USB 2.0 port without any problems, it will also run on such a port. Just slower accordingly.
