I've noticed several times that second-hand appliances are more expensive than new ones, and I don't see any logic in that.

This is because the used price is calculated from the original purchase price. It can therefore happen that offers from third-party dealers are cheaper. Price changes can also cause the selling price to fall below the price of a secondhand product.
