Question about 35mm f/1.5 Canon EF - 182940

I'm not sure how to get the right thread for the filters, it cost me d102.-, and the best part is that I couldn't test the thing within 7 days of purchase so I'm left with an unusable HOYA variable filter... I'd like a change in the indications and an exchange for my filter please
