Question about DisplayPort — HDMI (Typ A) - 289825

Since I started using this cable, my monitor sometimes receives no signal at all (stays black) or it disappears for a moment every 10-20 seconds. I never had a problem with the old cable (only 2 m). What could be the reason for this? Is the new cable defective?
