Hi all, our owl has quite a bit of trouble tracking people who are talking, sometimes it takes mass 30 seconds of talking for it to find one. The resolution is also not really good, certainly not HD. Is there any way to adjust it, or are there software updates for it? And where can I get them? Many thanks for your help

The Owl is only suitable for small rooms where the distance from the people to the Owl is less than 3 to 4 metres. In smaller rooms, the image quality and sound of the Owl is acceptable. I don't know about software updates. For larger rooms we use the Logitech video conferencing system, which offers much higher picture resolution and much better sound quality.

Software updates come either automatically when the OWL is connected to the internet, overnight (East Coast USA) or via a so-called "mobile refresh". More details here: owl-labs.helpscoutdocs.com/article/173-how-to-update-your-me....
We have also observed the somewhat sluggish tracking. Apparently, the Owl learns where people are sitting during a session and the switching

is faster over time. Tech support wrote to me about this: "he Owl's software uses a combination of visual and audio cues to focus on whoever is speaking in the room. The best test for this feature will be to have 4-5 people in the room and have them sit around the Owl for 10-15 seconds so that the Owl can "learn" their positions and shift camera focus quickly and accurately. If your startup seems slow, try speaking immediately when you start the meeting as the Owl video will not appear unless it has detected someone in the room" I have not been able to verify this yet.
On our end, the picture is not very sharp and rather grainy, with an unpleasant flickering graininess. The latest firmware has not changed this. According to support, more light should help (but probably not with the resolution).
