The height is adjustable, i.e. the lid is guided in a rail at the back and not fixed at one point. However, it cannot be properly locked in place, it simply rests on top. The rail makes it more parallel to the base plate.

The unit can be regulated continuously.
The rear hinge is not fixed, but can be pulled out upwards when folded, so that it also rests well on larger panini.
However, even this construction cannot overcome physics, so you have to make sure that you fill the thing as evenly as possible so that everything has good contact.
In any case, we are extremely satisfied with the device and its handling (it is easy to operate and clean).
