Margrethe Bowl Series. When a bowl bears the name of a reigning Danish queen, it is surely not by chance. Indeed, this design from the Danish brand Rosti is filled with anecdotes that are only surpassed by its undisputed high functionality and iconic silhouettes. The creative mind behind it is Jacob Jensen, who worked in the studio of Sigvard Bernadotte and Acton Bjørn in the 1950s and developed the iconic design for Rosti in 1950 based on a survey among housewives. However, the bowl only gained fame in 1954 when Sigvard Bernadotte – who preferred a life as a creative free spirit over the legitimate succession of Gustav VI. Adolf and life at court – was allowed to name the innovative design after his niece, the newly appointed Danish Crown Princess Margrethe II. The popularity of the monarch on one hand and the spread of electric hand mixers on the other helped market the bowls worldwide. Ultimately, it is their quality features that have earned them a place of honor in New York's MoMA and on a Danish postage stamp.

Margrethe Steel Mixing Bowls in a Set of 3. The "Steel" variant was added to the collection later.
