Product details

After more than two years of development, the Maxxis Assegai has finally arrived. Greg Minnaar's signature tires embody his 30 years of racing experience and Maxxis' expertise from over 50 years of tire manufacturing. The Assegai combines features from the Minion DHF, Minion DHR II, and HighRoller.

Exo Protection is an extremely cut and abrasion-resistant material that protects the sidewalls of various MTB tires. It is densely woven, lightweight, and flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tires remains impressively good.

3C MaxxTerra is the freeride variant of the 3C tires, offering much more grip and traction thanks to softer compounds, while maintaining acceptable rolling resistance. This allows for good uphill performance before the great descent, with a long lifespan.

Tubeless Ready tires provide many advantages: you can ride with lower air pressure, which improves traction and reduces rolling resistance. Additionally, without a tube, the risk of a breakdown decreases. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealing milk than other tubeless-ready tires. The bead of our TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer, similar to a real UST tubeless tire.

Wide Trail construction optimizes the tread layout and tire shape for today's modern wider rims. Traditional tires are designed for narrow rims and can have an angular shape on wide rims, resulting in suboptimal performance. All Maxxis WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm but function perfectly on all rims with an inner dimension between 30 and 39 mm.
