Wahoo Kickr Core
The Wahoo KICKR CORE is compatible with 8-, 9-, 10- and 11-speed cassettes, but not directly with 12-speed cassettes without additional adjustments. To mount a 12-speed cassette, you need a special freewheel adapter, as the KICKR CORE is not compatible with SRAM 12-speed cassettes as standard. You would need to purchase a Shimano/SRAM freehub adapter that enables compatibility with 12-speed cassettes. Regarding thru axles: The KICKR CORE is already equipped with the necessary adapters for 130/135mm Quick Release and 12x142 and 12x148 Thru Axle, so you do not normally need to purchase these separately.

The adapters for Thru Axle are actually included with the Wahoo KICKR CORE Smart Trainer. The package includes adapters for 12x142mm and 12x148mm Thru Axle, so they do not need to be ordered separately.

You can use the Zwift Cog on the Wahoo Kickr Core, but there are a few important points to bear in mind: - The Zwift Cog must be removed from its original freehub and mounted on the Kickr Core's freehub. - It is necessary that the firmware of the Kickr Core is up to date to enable virtual shifting. - Virtual shifting functionality is dependent on hardware and software compatibility, but there are reports that it is possible after the latest firmware updates. It is advisable to follow the instructions for removing and installing the Zwift Cog on the Wahoo website or in relevant support articles.

In principle, I also recommend checking the bottle cage screws from time to time after regular riding. They are often full of sweat and water and rot or rust away.
Do I really have to order these adapters now?
No. At Wahoo, they offer you the option of taking out a Zwift plan for 150 euros for 1 year. You also have this option if you buy the Kickr from Galaxus.
The cassette fits exactly in one orientation. The teeth on the freehub body and in the cassette have wider and less wide teeth. Align them exactly and simply slide them on without tilting. Hope that helps, it shouldn't be rocket science.
According to my research, there is a newer model or a customised version, the Wahoo Kickr Core Zwift One, which is equipped with the pre-installed Zwift Cog. However, this model is not currently available in our range. It offers Zwift-specific functions such as virtual shifting via the Zwift Cog and does not require a physical cassette. The main technical features such as performance accuracy and gradient simulation up to 16 % are identical and correspond to the regular Kickr Core.
As @richiamman said, simply turn until it fits. Then tighten with the appropriate tool, without which it is unfortunately not possible. If the cassette has play: According to "Drivetrain Compatibility [CORE]" (https://support.wahoofitness.com/hc/en-us/articles/13681629286674-Drivetrain-Compatibility-CORE), the 1.8mm spacer ring must be fitted behind the cassette for cassettes with more than 34 teeth.
165 is the total length of the axle. How wide are the dropouts? Adapters for 12x142 and 12x148 are included
According to GPllama already, see this video for more details: https://youtu.be/0DjOtsFbvW4
I can't say, I don't have any.
No, it works via the Bluetooth interfaces of the Core & iPad. In the app (Zwift or mywhoosh) you search for the trainer and it is connected, it's very simple.
Unfortunately I can't answer that 100%, as I only ride a 10-speed cassette, an 11 is certainly possible
As far as I remember, two different spacer rings included
This product is an external offer (Eldar Media GmbH). Unfortunately, we have no influence on the pricing in this case. Our offer would be cheaper, but is unfortunately not currently available.

Meant Shimano 12-speed shifting
Correct. There is NO Swiss plug, which is a shame considering that this product is sold by Galaxus in Switzerland.
I think for a 12x Shimano MTB cassette you still need a MicroSpline body. For a 12x Shimano road cassette everything is included
For a SRAM 12-fash cassette you need to replace the freewheel body (https://de-eu.wahoofitness.com/devices/accessories/xdr-xd-freehub-for-kickr-power-trainer). This is done in two minutes. Then all 12-speed SRAM MTB or road bike cassettes will fit on the Core without any problems. Only 11-speed Shimano or SRAM cassettes fit on the original freewheel body. Replace the freewheel and you're done.
Compatible with children's MTB (Whoom 5 Off, 9 gears, 24 inch)? I am curious to find out whether it can also be used with children's bikes and thicker tyres. I think it would be great for our son. Many thanks for the feedback. https://woom.com/de_CH/kinder-mountainbikes/off-5?variant=terra-coppa
Yes, I just fitted it to a Zwift frame with Cog v2 a fortnight ago. Works like a charm.
