The Shimano XT CS-M8000 cassette is part of the latest XT generation from 2016. The 11-speed drivetrain, previously reserved for the high-end XTR, is now also available for the more affordable yet functionally similar Deore XT. Unlike competitors, Shimano riders do not need a new freehub body for their rear hub; they can mount the Shimano 11-speed cassette on their regular 10-speed freehubs. With the appropriate 11-speed shifter and an 11-speed chain, you can upgrade your bike to the latest shifting standard with minimal effort. The Shimano Deore XT CS-M8000 cassette is also ideal for 1x11 drivetrains, thanks to its wide gear range of 11 to 40/42 teeth.
