The 11-speed drivetrain, previously reserved for the top-tier XTR group, has now also established itself in the more affordable Deore XT, which is hardly weaker in terms of functionality. Unlike the competitor Sram, Shimano riders do not need a new freehub body for their rear axle and can mount the Shimano 11-speed cassette on their regular 10-speed freehubs.
