Is the 973-15 kit necessary if I buy the Thule BackPac 973? I read a comment to this effect that has me confused. I drive a Mazda 5 minivan and the picture shows the rear carrier including the kit, so it would be a "bschiss". What does Galaxus think about this, if the main product is not complete, you must write this clearly!!!!!

In fact, I too had to reorder the 973-15 kit. I was annoyed too, not only because of the costs, but also because of the extra work and delay this caused. I, too, would be interested in a statement from Galaxus.
