No it is not limited to children's bikes, there is a total limit of 30kg given by the manufacturer. Sometimes there is a lower limit depending on the car model and the type of boot. But on the thule website you can usually find this information!

This is not compatible with electric bikes. The easiest is to look directly at the Thule website to see what is compatible: https://www.thule.com/it-ch/buyers-guide?c=bike+carriers&q=a9xPDnNKE I still recommend you take advantage of Thule's support and then find out about compatibility with your car: https://support.thule.com/hc/it?utm_source=thule.com&utm_medium=Referral

Hello Reto. Please consult the "Thule Buying Guide" to determine the correct carrier. To do this, simply click on Product in the Galaxus Webstore and then under Specifications on External Links / "Support" and then search for the desired carrier for the desired car. It's very easy...I was able to put everything together perfectly for our Audi. The carrier is highly recommended.

In fact, I too had to reorder the 973-15 kit. I was annoyed too, not only because of the costs, but also because of the extra work and delay this caused. I, too, would be interested in a statement from Galaxus. Dagobert Kuster

Can this model be mounted on a BMW X4?

The documentation indicates which model is compatible with which car. The easiest way to do this is to go to the thule website, indicate via the drop-down lists the model of your car and the compatible bike carriers will be listed.

According to Thule, mounting is possible on the 2016 Tiguan. https://www.thule.com/de-de/ch/bike-rack/trunk-bike-racks?q=oumKPd7PB However, you would still need the corresponding kit (Thule BackPac Kit 973-17) for the Tiguan. Thule Kit for BackPac 973-17 Just make sure that the car is equipped with a spoiler. Our car has a small spoiler in the sports version (small roof at the rear) and therefore the carrier cannot be mounted. The 60kg (4 bikes) advertised on the carrier is also only possible to a limited extent, depending on the vehicle. In our car, only 45kg (3 bikes) can be mounted. I only saw this in the kit's instructions. If you would like to buy the carrier (without kit) a little cheaper (never mounted, only screwed together).... you are welcome to do so here. :-) Thule BackPac 973

I had the same "problem": unfortunately only 3 wheels fit on Sharan and Alhambra. I assume the rear spoiler can't hold more than 45kg. I had already ordered the extension for the 4th wheel and then had to send it back. By the way, I haven't found any other product on the market (for rear attachment without AH coupling) that can hold more than 3 wheels.
