The Altivar Soft Starter ATS480 is designed for starting and stopping asynchronous motors with voltages ranging from 208V to 690V. It meets the demands of the most challenging applications in both normal and heavy-duty use. With a rated current of 250A under normal overload conditions, it operates motors from 75kW to 250kW depending on the supply voltage. Developed for digitalization, it is networked and optimized to comply with cybersecurity standards, simplifying project execution and maximizing application availability. Its Torque Control System (TCS) manages acceleration and deceleration. Thanks to dynamic braking and DC injection, it efficiently handles applications with high inertia. It can be connected in the motor line or in a delta configuration to reduce operating current. The embedded testing routine simplifies commissioning in delta configuration. The dimensions are 320mm (width) x 277mm (depth) x 380mm (height), and it weighs 18.2kg. The Altivar Soft Starter ATS480 is designed to monitor processes, infrastructures, and industrial machines. It complies with IEC/EN60947-4-1 and is certified according to CE, cULus, UKCA, CCC, RCM, EAC, as well as marine certified by DNV, ABS, BV, and CCS. Control terminals, remote mounting kits, and communication modules are standardized with the Altivar Drives. Line reactors and DNV kits are identical to the predecessor ATS48. The ATS480 is compatible with ATS48, sharing the same footprint, mounting, torque control, I/O, and menus. Integrating the Altivar Soft Starter ATS480 into EcoStruxure drastically simplifies the selection of architecture, detailed design, and execution of ventilation and electrical systems.
