The armadillo is unmistakable and rightly bears its name. Its thick, armored shell wraps around its entire body like it is made up of several belts. It looks quite cute, especially when it scurries through the desert on its short legs. It surely has sniffed out a tasty treat with its keen nose. Its favorite food is insects. When it digs them out from their underground burrows, the armadillo can hold its breath for up to six minutes. After that, it has certainly earned its meal.
