Magic 5 and 5 Pro: Honor unveils new smartphones at MWC

New year, new luck: Honor refreshes its line-up with two new top smartphones, the Magic 5 and 5 Pro.
Compared to the predecessor models, the improvements are minimal; with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, there is above all a new chipset.
Honor advertises the round design of the camera module, which is slightly better equipped in the Pro version than in the regular variant: one 50-megapixel main, ultra-wide-angle and telephoto camera each with 3.5x optical and 100x digital zoom. In the regular version, the telephoto camera has 32 megapixels and 50x zoom, while the main camera has a minimally higher resolution of 54 megapixels.
Honor is burying the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 as the processor in the Magic 5 and is giving them a slightly larger 5000 mAh battery compared to the Magic 4. RAM on both Magic 5s is twelve gigabytes, and internal storage on the Magic 5 is 256 gigabytes, doubling to 512 gigabytes on the Pro version.
As with its predecessor, the OLED display on the Pro measures 6.81 inches, while the regular version is slightly smaller at 6.73 inches. The operating system on both smartphones is Android 13, with Honor's MagicOS 7.1 user interface. The Pro is available in green and black, the regular in blue and black. Sales start in Europe is planned for mid-April, the Magic 5 Pro will be available from about 1200 euros.
