Sony Airpeak: Is DJI finally getting some competition?
It all still sounds very vague, but Sony is apparently planning to enter the drone business in spring 2021.
So far, we don't have much more than a name and a meaningless video. Airpeak is the name of Sony's new "project", which somehow has something to do with drones. The video shows a propeller motor.
Airpeak is due to take off in spring 2021. According to the press release, Airpeak will support the creativity of video creators as much as possible. It also aims to enable the use of drones in environments where it was previously difficult - with the greatest possible safety and reliability. However, it does not say which environments are meant. It could be applications in industry.
