Today's smartphones and tablets need more and more charging current to refill their batteries quite quickly and often require 2A and more from the power supply units. To ensure that this charging current reaches the mobile device with as little loss as possible, the connection between the power supply and the device, i.e. the cable, must also be dimensioned accordingly so that the power loss is as low as possible.
